By Rachelle Avilahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itlBJrbVIi0Since its June 2015 debut, the Blade 3D-printed supercar from Divergent Microfactories has become a global phenomena. This week, it rolled down the Hollywood Walk of Fame at the 3D Excite Expo showing off its sleek 007 design.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUXzQUKTQmU&feature=em-share_video_userBut Blade is more than just about style. James Bond influence aside, Blade offers a tremendous amount of power and speed going from 0-60 mph in 2.2 seconds. To compare, the Tesla Model S, one of the fastest supercars currently on the market, goes from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds.

While its curb appeal and speed capabilities may be enough to sell the car alone, there is one other factor that makes this automobile even more intriguing. Kevin Czinger, founder & CEO of Divergent Microfactories, says Blade is the first step in an ongoing effort to make cars that are truly environmentally friendly:“Society has made great strides in its awareness and adoption of cleaner and greener cars. The problem is that while these cars do now exist, the actual manufacturing of them is anything but environmentally friendly. At Divergent Microfactories, we’ve found a way to make automobiles that holds the promise of radically reducing the resource use and pollution generated by manufacturing…without sacrificing style or substance.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kc5VmAOiHUKevin was able to explain just this to a group of people who were passing by on their Hollywood tour bus (see video above). The Hollywood Walk of Fame proved to be a great runway for Blade and we are excited for Divergent Microfactories’ continuing success as they take the car industry by storm.
